In recent years, Faster Bowler Umesh was more treated as a RED Ball Series player than White ball cricket as he took 158 wickets from 52 test matches at an economy rate of 3.54 and scored 408 at an average of 11.7 since 2011. In 2018-2020, The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) picked him up in the auction, but he did not get a chance or the rare opportunity to play in IPL as RCB was played him in only two matches.
Right-arm Fast Bowler Umesh Yadav is currently playing for the Vidarbha Cricket team since 2008, the Indian national team and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise in the Indian Premier League. He made his first ODI debut on 28 May 2010 against Zimbabwe, then his Test debut on 6 November 2011 against West Indies and he was the first player from Vidarbha on the team to play Test cricket. His T20I debut was on 7 August 2012 against Sri Lanka. He was the highest wicket-taker for India with 18 wickets from 8 matches and was the third-highest wicket-taker in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. In October 2019, He also owned the record of the highest strike rate in an innings in Test cricket against South Africa.

Since 2010 Umesh has played 124 IPL matches, conceded runs 3617 and took 127 wickets at an economy rate of 8.41.
Umesh Yadav made his IPL debut in 2010 with Delhi Daredevils and played for the franchise for 4 Years. He took 19 wickets from 17 matches at an average of 23.84 and was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the 2012 IPL. Then Umesh was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014 and played for the side for four years until he was released by KKR ahead of the 2018 IPL auction and took 20 wickets from 14 matches in the tournament. RCB come apart him for Rs. 4.20 Cr. in IPL auction 2018, who played for two years and was released by RCB ahead of the 2021 IPL auction. Meanwhile, he was bought for Rs. 1.00 Cr. by Delhi Capitals.
